The Role of a Wasiat in Muslim Estate Planning

A wasiat is a will made under Muslim law, allowing a Muslim to direct that part of their estate be given to chosen recipients after death or keeping within faraid principles. In Singapore, a wasiat operates alongside faraid the fixed-share system of Muslim inheritance and within limits set by Muslim law. Used thoughtfully, it can be a helpful part of estate planning.
